Spontane was born in New York city in 2002. We have been playing and touring extensively in different well known and underground venues, parties, festivals in New York, Amsterdam and all over France : opening among others for Senor Coconut, Buena vista social club, the Procussions, Sergent Garcia, James Delleck and Gravité Zéro, LKJ, Chicago Underground Trio, Gomm, Raw T, Scratch Massive, Justice, Mei-Tei-Sho, Velma...
We had the chance to perform in several festivals and important venues such as the Printemps de Bourges (2004), Effervessonnes (2003), Musiques Volantes (2003), Sous La Plage (2005), Jazz à Luz (2005), le Batofar, La Laiterie, le Nouveau Casino, Mains d'Oeuvres...
Also live on Radio Nova (2004). Early 2005, SPONTANE has signed up a deal with a new Parisian Label, Dad Records, to record and release its expected first album, "God is dead in Good Luck City"

David Aknin : Drums/percs/keys/vocals
David was born in Nîmes in '73. Self taught musician. As a kid, he started his musical education with "great black music", blues... He also currently plays with the Collective Slang, Soulreactive, Limousine, Fred Poulet, Lucy Dixon, Spleen, Teknic Old School... David tries to play what he likes and used to play/experiment with many musicians from the jazz scene and other. For the past few years, he has decided to get closer to writing and playing "songs"... He joined the Spontane story 2 years ago with desire, and found in this group extraordinary possibilities to create, to sculpt another sound, other stories to tell, to give.

David Sztanke :Keys/acoustic piano/vocals.
Born in 1979 in Paris, David is the youngest member of the band. After living in New York for 4 years and playing baritone sax, he returned to Paris in 2003. Among his experiences, he's had the chance to play and/or record with Mike Ladd (Dave is part of Mike’s band since early 2004), Beans, Dr Israel, Antibalas, Busdriver, Rob Sonic, Cocosuma, Crack Village, Doctor L, J. Morali aka Syd Matters, Choc... He also formed his own band called "Tahiti Boy and the Palmtree Family".

Eric Pailhé : Sax/analog keys/sampler/fx/vocals.
Born in Koweit on january 16th. 1971, professionnal musician since 1992, Eric has been playing and composing music in Europe and the USA with amongst others Jim Black, Denis Badaut, Dj Toshio Kajiwara, le C.U.F, Andrew Barker, Massacre Privé, the dancers Talal Al Muhanna, Lucie Vigouroux...

Born in Paris on the 24th of april 1974. Musician since early ninety's has been recording and performing music with : Lagoutte, Fasten Boalbus, Denis Badault, Lone Kent, Francis Lassus, Jeff Parker, Rodney Anderson, Jacques Didonato... to name a few. Veggie sometimes, loves chocolate.

Born in 1972 in Beckenham (UK), professional musician since 1994, Roger has played and/or collaborated with Chico Loco, DJ Pilooski, Easy Going, Eddyee solo and No Flute.

Bruce Sherfield (Mc Jester) :
Bruce was born in Nashville,Tennessee in 1977. He lives in New York. He is in the Neo-Contextual movement of art, which means he can do things and say things, "just because". He's been to Guam! He has a tattoo that a girl thought looked like a dead squirrel. He likes the band a lot, but not as much as boats.
